Kindergarten

Students thrive in our full day Kindergarten program.  Our enthusiastic and dedicated teachers create a welcoming environment that excites the young learners.  Our kindergarteners commence their formal instruction with traditional subjects that are enriched by special classes, as well.  From the very start, a St. John’s student is nurtured to develop a love for learning.

Specials include:  Art, Music, Technology, Library, and Physical Education

Our Kindergarten program includes:

  • A full day program staffed by a certified teacher, as well as a teacher’s aide
  • An academic program aligned to the NYS Common Core Learning Standards in accordance with the curriculum prescribed by the Diocese of Buffalo to nurture the 21st century learner.  Learning is centered upon Religion, Hands on Social Studies, Math, and Science integrated into a comprehensive English and Language Arts program (includes reading, writing, listening, speaking, printing and phonics)
  • A relaxed atmosphere which promotes both social and academic learning
  • SMART Boards in the classroom
  • Superkids Reading Program
  • A daily awareness of calendar, news and weather
  • Dedicated daily time allowance for free play and social interactions
  • Daily creative activities to correlate with lessons and to develop motor and listening skills
  • Full participation in all school activities including Mass, prayer services, assemblies, the hot lunch program, and more
  • Engaging and educational field trips and assemblies

  • “End-of-the-Year” Kindergarten Celebration Play

    NECESSARY for REGISTRATION:
  • Child must be 5 by December 1st
  • Birth certificate & immunization record required
  • Registration fee
  • Program fee
