Bison Fund
Founded in 1995, the BISON Scholarship Fund is a privately funded tuition assistance program for low-income children. In 2007, BISON announced a significant expansion of the current program in offering financially eligible St. John’s families from Buffalo, Lackawanna, West Seneca, Cheektowaga, Kenmore and the Town of Tonawanda can apply for scholarship assistance.
Families interested in St. John’s School may be eligible to receive tuition assistance from the BISON Children’s Scholarship Fund; it is a privately funded tuition assistance program for economically eligible families with children entering grades K-8. With an average award of $1,375 and a maximum award of $2,100, this is is a great opportunity for families who desire a private education for their children but may not be able to afford it. BISON is designed to give parents a full range of choices about their children’s education.

Application details:
- To be eligible, you must meet income eligibility guidelines and reside in one of the following counties of Western New York: Erie, Niagara, Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Genesee, Orleans and Wyoming.
- Scholarships are only for children entering Kindergarten through Grade 8; BISON funding does not include Pre-Kindergarten.
Note, if you are currently receiving a scholarship in the BISON program, you do NOT need to complete the Pre-Application; rather, you will receive an email from the BISON Fund with renewal information.
Families awarded a BISON scholarship will be able to enroll their child in a private grammar school (K-8th Grade) of their choice in the greater Buffalo area, including St. John’s School. For more information regarding the Bison Fund, visit their website at http://bisonfund.com/our-scholarships/.

St. John’s Parish Tuition Assistance Fund
Proceeds from the Annual Scholarship Dinner & Auction…and Golf Outing are dedicated towards assisting parish families. Through the generosity of our parishioners, alums, benefactors and friends, we are able to offer the St. John’s Parish Tuition Assistance Fund.
Angels Wings Scholarship Program
The Angel Wings Scholarship Program assist families in underwriting the cost of a Catholic education. Private donors and endowments fund this scholarship program.
