Canisius High School

Fall Open House – Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 9:00-11:30 am & Monday, October 7 from 5:00-7:30 pm.

Crusader for the Day Program. Eighth grade boys are invited to spend a full school day here attending classes and experiencing life at Canisius High School firsthand. Interested families can visit www.canisiushigh.org/visit to schedule a day!

The WNY Catholic High School Scholarship & Placement Exam will be given at Canisius on Saturday, November 23rd beginning at 8:30 A.M. Candidates and families can learn more at www.canisiushigh.org/apply.

Cardinal O'Hara High School

Open House will be Thursday, October 3rd from 4-6pm and Saturday, October 5th from 9-11am.

Tuesday, October 15, 22 and 29, November 12 – from 4 – 6:30 p.m. – for 8th grade girls looking to prepare and build their confidence for the High School Placement/Entrance Exam. Register here! (Note, first 40 Mounties are free.)

ENTRANCE EXAM REVIEW COURSE

In preparation for the HSPT examination, a review course will be offered on three consecutive Saturdays: November 2nd, November 9th, and November 16th, from 9am until 12pm. Course fee is $100 (includes the review book).

Welcome Wednesdays

Missed our open house? Join us for “Nardin Welcomes You Wednesday” and learn about all that Nardin Academy has to offer!

This is a great opportunity for prospective families to experience the Nardin community in action and see our world class facilities, during a regular school day in a small group setting.

Welcome Wednesdays are offered on select Wednesdays from 7:45 – 9:30 a.m. Each Welcome Wednesday includes remarks from our High School Principal, a Q&A session for families, a tour of our beautiful campus, and the opportunity to meet our welcoming students and faculty. Light refreshments will be served.

Sacred Heart Academy

All 8^th grade girls are encouraged to shadow at SHA. Please call me at your earliest convenience to reserve a Shadow Day for your school. Shadow days begin Wednesday, October 2. If you are coordinating the day on behalf of your students, please submit a list with names and parent email addresses so we can send out an interest form as well as specific details for the day and email me at mganey@sacredheartacademy.org. If you are asking parents to schedule on their own, please refer them to the sign up that can be found on SHA’s website: sacredheartacademy.org under the Admissions tab. Please note: We cannot accommodate students on October 14,15, 18, November 11, 22.

SHA offers an Entrance Examination Prep Course, which will run on three consecutive Saturdays from 9 am to 12 noon: October 19, 26, November 2. The cost is $75.

The Catholic High School Entrance Examination is Saturday, November 23. The application is online at sacredheartacademy.org. Sacred Heart requires one letter of recommendation for all applicants. All first choice applicants can apply for scholarships and financial aid.

Families can learn more about the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at an IB Informational Evening on Tuesday, October 29 from 7-8 p.m. Sacred Heart is the only private school in the Buffalo area to offer this unique and engaging curriculum.

St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute

MARAUDER FOR A DAY (Shadow Day) for prospective students in grade 8

Begins Monday, September 23

Marauder for a Day allows prospective 9th grade students in fall 2025 the opportunity to become a St. Joe’s student for the day! A current freshman will act as your son’s guide as he experiences our Community of Excellence. Each Marauder for a Day is paired with a current freshman, attends all classes, enjoys a complimentary meal in our Dining Room, and ends the day with light refreshments. St. Joe’s is limiting the Marauder for a Day Program to twelve (12) prospective students per day. We will also be offering the opportunity for parents to tour campus with one of our Admissions Team staff at the time of your son’s drop off or pick up on the day of his MFAD visit.

FALL OPEN HOUSE 2024 for all prospective families

Sunday, October 6 & Monday, October 7

All prospective students and their families are invited to Open House for private tours of our modern campus. Your tour will include our entire campus with opportunities to interact with our teachers, staff, coaches, and students. This is a pre-registration event only with limited attendance and appointment slots. Select an arrival time when registering and plan to arrive on campus during that 15 minute time slot. Once on campus, please estimate your tour lasting approximately 1.5 hours.

EXPERIENCE ST. JOE’S MORNING PROGRAM for parents of prospective students in grades 6, 7, & 8

Each session will include remarks from our President, Christopher Fulco, Ed.D., and Principal, Mr. James Spillman ’95, a tour of campus including opportunities to experience classes in session and an opportunity to interact with current students. Sessions are scheduled for Wednesday, 9/18, 11/13, 1/8, & 3/12 from 9 – 10:30 a.m.

ENTRANCE EXAM PREP COURSE for prospective students in grades 7 & 8

The St. Joe’s Entrance Exam Prep Course is open to 7th and 8th grade boys planning to apply to Catholic High Schools. Held at St. Joe’s on Saturday mornings from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., the 2024 Prep Course will take place on the four weekends leading up to the Entrance Exam: 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, 11/16. The cost is $100 and includes a review book.

ENTRANCE & SCHOLARSHIP EXAM for prospective students in grade 8

All prospective members of the Class of 2029 must take the Catholic High School Entrance & Scholarship Exam on Saturday, November 23, 2024. Parents that have any questions regarding the exam may contact me directly at 716.874.4953 or pkennedy@sjci.com.

As in past years, a completed Application for Admission serves as registration for the exam.

St. Mary's High School

To schedule a Shadow Day at St. Mary’s:

Contact the student’s present school. Some schools have designated days for high school visits. If no days are scheduled, the school can inform you of preferred days so that there is no conflict with current schoolwork.

Entrance Exam Review Classes – November 6-8th from 4-6 pm

The Placement Exam is the Saturday before Thanksgiving, this year November 23, 2024 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and costs $20. Eighth grade students interested in attending St. Mary’s must register to take the placement exam. Criteria for awards and scholarships are primarily based on each student’s placement exam test results.
