Each month, I will update this webpage with a brief overview of what we will be learning in each of our subject areas.  If you every have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Religion - We will begin our discussion of the Seven Sacraments and spend some time this month on the Sacraments of Initiation - Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation.

Science - We just finished our unit on The Design Process and The Scientific Method. Your child's assessment on this unit has been graded and returned to them.

Social Studies - We are finishing up our first unit on Geography and Map Skills.

Reading - This month, we will begin our first novel study, Esperanza Rising, by Pam Munzo Ryan. We will learn how to code the text and mark our thinking as we are reading using post-its.

ELA - We will continue to work on Grammar Workshop. This month, we will also learn how to write reading response essays on our weekly story tests. 

We invite you to join us for our annual Walk-a-Thon on Friday, October 13. There will be an 11:00 am dismissal that day.

I look forward to seeing everyone during their scheduled time for Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 19 and Friday, October 20.
