***Homework:  I recently read this article on supporting children at home with homework.  I found it quite interesting, so I thought I would share.  As the year progresses, I am going to release more responsibility onto the students with regard to writing in their planners each day, and packing all necessary books, folders etc. to go home in the afternoon.  As always, homework is meant to review/reinforce concepts at home, and establishing solid work/study routines.  I aim to give a reasonable amount of homework each day, and to spread out testing as much as possible.  As per the third grade policy, students missing 4 homework assignments will be assigned an after school detention.  That said, I know there are days when there might be a family emergency that precludes homework.  If this is the case, please just write me a note.  Thanks for all of the at-home support!  Happy reading!

Specials for our classroom are:  *Please note our specials have changed slightly as of Trimester 3...

Monday - Library AND Gym (Note: please send students to school wearing their sneakers)

Tuesday - Gym (Note: students should wear their sneakers to school)

          Wednesday - Art

Thursday - Music (bring your recorder and homework!)

          Friday - Technology

  • When sending money to school, please put it in an envelope labeled with your child's name, Gr. 3, Rm. 205, and what the money is for (tuition, candy money, etc.).
  • Check your child's planner and take home folder daily to make sure he/she comes to school prepared with homework, books, notes, lunch money, etc.  Occasionally, I may write notes to you in the planner.
  • If your child has been absent, please send a note to school on the day your child returns.  Work can be picked up outside of the office at the end of the day.

As always, if there is anything I can do for you, or any questions or concerns you may have, please feel free to contact me.
